It’s day three in Ireland – beautiful, green, friendly Ireland.
We spent two days in Dublin and today drove to the quaint fishing village of Kinsale, out on the Wild Atlantic Way.
As we drive I have fantastical imaginings of my Irish ancestors going about their 17th century lives in the small towns and hamlets we pass through. I also envision them like the movie “Waking Ned Devine”. If you haven’t seen it you should. It’s hilarious and I have no doubt my Irish blood comes from characters like these – working class and salt of the earth.
It’s still too fresh for me to adequately describe what I’m seeing. But I can say the food is unexpected, the beer is abundant and the weather is erratic. I’ll be posting more soon. Until then, Slainte (Cheers)!
